Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) is a United States-based seniors advocacy organization and interest group, founded in 2007 by Daniel Weber, a retired insurance agency owner. AMAC is a membership organization for people age 50 and over, headquartered in New York, New York. AMAC is one of several organizations that markets itself as a conservative alternative to AARP.〔Diane C. Lade, ("Anti-AARP groups looking to woo new retirees" ), ''Sun-Sentinel'', January 14, 2013.〕〔("AARP Brushes Off Obamacare Complaints During 1200 WOAI News Interview" ), WOAI (AM), December 9, 2013.〕 Rooted in the traditional American values of "faith, family and freedom", AMAC's mission to protect the interests of America's seniors offers an "alternative perspective on how best to solve the problems seniors face today". Unlike other senior organizations, it is the AMAC membership that chooses the issues for which the organization advocates in Washington D.C.〔 AMAC offers Medicare Supplemental Insurance, discounts on prescription drugs and consumer goods, national entertainment and travel packages, as well as long-term care and home, automobile, life insurance and other member benefits, including travel discounts, roadside assistance and financial advice. == Political activities == AMAC operates as a non-partisan organization, meaning it does not give money to specific candidates, campaigns or political action committee AMAC is particularly concerned about the nation's long-term challenges, including fiscal issues, transparency and accountability, and Social Security and health-care reform. AMAC and its members oppose the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and are committed to fighting the ACA's (alleged) cuts to Medicare. AMAC is actively engaged in these issues from an advocacy standpoint in Washington, D.C., and has a plan—called the Social Security Guarantee—which claims to make Social Security solvent for 75 years without raising taxes.〔 In February 2013, AMAC launched a national grassroots advocacy program, the AMAC Delegate Program. The Delegate Program intends to place a voluntary AMAC member in every Congressional District across the country. Delegate responsibilities include "making an introduction on behalf of the organization to his or her member of Congress and articulating the issues and concerns of AMAC members to the Representative". So far, about 200 Congressional Districts have been assigned an official AMAC delegate. The AMAC Foundation held its National Health Care Symposium in June 2014 in Washington, D.C. The event brought together the leaders in the health care debate to find solutions to the problems facing the American health care system.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Dr. Haynes to speak at AMAC Health Care Symposium )〕 AMAC plans to advance these solutions to policymakers. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Association of Mature American Citizens」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
